It’s Mental Health Awareness Week in the UK this week. The Mental Health Foundation has hosted the event since 2001, and I can’t think of a year where it’s been more important. Its theme this year is kindness, and in its spirit, I am offering a free morning stretch on Facebook Live every weekday this week. I’ve really missed teaching this past few months, and often think about how my students’ are coping in their own situations.
Offering virtual classes this week provides an opportunity to connect, sharing a virtual space together, feeling that strength of connection, energy and the benefits that can be realised from prioritising our health and wellbeing for small pockets of time each day.
I hope that you are able to join my classes which can be found on my YogaDad Facebook page. The classes will be live and direct from my boys’ bedroom, from 8.30 – 8.45am, focusing on a different theme each day, varying between standing and seated sequences.
