In my blog post ‘Do Yoga for Good‘, I highlighted how my donation-based lunchtime yoga classes this summer have raised over £350 for local, national and international charities.
I am now heading indoors for the autumn season, and returning with a new Yoga for Charity class at the Yoga Loft, South Bristol Osteopaths, just off Queen Square in Bristol.
These classes will be used to raise funds to support the amazing work done by Young Minds UK in its fight towards improving children and young people’s mental health.
My final assignment for my Yoga Teacher Training at Bristol School of Yoga investigated how yoga could be used to promote physical and mental health & wellbeing. In this way, enabling children and young people to realise their potential.
I cited publications such as Young Minds’ Wise Up Report and associated campaign. Young Minds highlighted the importance of rebalancing the education system so that student wellbeing is considered as important as academic attainment.
Young Minds has a Hello Yellow campaign on 10th October – the date of my first class. I could not think of a better suited charity to support as I continue to Do Yoga for Good.
